Today's Q & A Sunday is a question we get all the time from our buyers and sellers in Pittsburgh. It's, what's the difference between a home warranty and homeowner's insurance?

So just real quick, homeowner's insurance is obvious. That's going to cover things like a tree falls on your roof. Your house gets struck by lightning. It burns down. Things like that. Now, what a home warranty covers is things that are smaller, your appliances. If your furnace stops working, those are the types of things. Now both have deductibles. So your home warranty is going to have a deductible, but it's only going to be probably between $75 and $150. Whereas your homeowner's insurance, a deductible is going to be for bigger ticket items. So that's real quick, Q & A Sunday today coming to you from the deck. That is what we're doing. Homeowner's insurance versus home warranty.

If you have any questions about this, reach out to me, 412-965-6387, or reach out to somebody on the team and we'll walk you through a deeper explanation, but homeowner's insurance is going to cover the big things. Like if your house burns down or if a tree falls on it and a home warranty is going to cover the smaller things like appliances furnace, et cetera.
