With some of the most coveted school and community centers in the state, Upper St. Clair is a South Allegheny treasure.

The area known as “Upper St. Clair” can trace its origins in recorded history to the mid-eighteenth century when the first known settler, a Scotsman named John Fife, arrived from Virginia in 1762. At that time the land was a part of Yohogania County District of West Augusta, Virginia, which was also claimed by the Penns as part of Pennsylvania. This dispute was finally settled in 1784, with the area now known as “Upper St. Clair” being placed in Peters Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania.

The Township of Upper St. Clair is a 10.5 sq. mile, primarily residential community (19,000+ residents) located 10 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This family-oriented community boasts an award-winning school district, excellent recreation, a safe environment, and caring staff and residents. Upper St. Clair has been named one of the “Top Ten Best Places to Live” by U.S. News & World Report.
